Erica Korman, LCSW has been in private practice for 12+ years, since graduating with her Master’s from NYU Graduate School. She has 2 years post-master’s advanced training Psychodynamic Psychotherapy training from NYU School of Medicine’s Psychoanalytic Institute. She has previously worked as a therapist and/or supervisor at various hospitals and clinics in Manhattan including: New York’s Foundling hospital, Gracie Square Hospital, Greenwich House Substance Abuse Clinic, Safe Space Mental Health Center, Parallax Center, and Postgraduate Center for Mental Health.
She has been quoted in various publications, which include: "The New York Post", "Star Magazine", "Life and Style Weekly". Erica was also featured in a segment of "MSNBC" and TLC's "Strange Addiction".
Erica is also certified in Holistic Health and Nutrition from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City.
During her training, she has studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts. The teachers include Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine; Dr. David Katz, Director of Yale University’s Prevention Research Center; Dr. Walter Willett, Chair of Nutrition at Harvard University; Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.
Her education has equipped her with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and her knowledge of different dietary theories, she works with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
She is also a strong believer meditation, practicing daily. She incorporates meditation in her work with clients. She works on treating the whole person and the mind/body connection. Erica is a strong believer in Positive Psychology and uses it as well as the Law of Attraction in her work as well. Her goal is for her clients to achieve their own personal state of happiness and inner-peace. She functions as a Psychotherapist/Life Coach/Holistic Nutritionist and Meditation Coach.
Erica is a vegetarian and she currently resides with her family in Miami!
